Single Serve = 1 small beetroot, about 85g
Storage = In fridge, with the leaves cut off to retain more nutrients (also takes up less space!)
Preparation = Beetroot can be eaten raw or cooked. Best not to eat the roots or leaf base and clean well as has come out of the ground. The leaves can also be cooked and eaten.
Cooking = Boil, Steam, Microwave, Roast ( our preference is to keep the skin and the head intact while cooking to reduce leakage of juice – it will also separate easily once cooked)
Use = salads, dips, juice, as side dish.
Use gloves to handle if you want to avoid staining your hands. Save time and effort and just go for the ready cooked, packaged beetroots.
